SUNDERLAND, ON - Sometimes dogs come into rescue not because they have done anything wrong, but because their lives simply take a different direction than originally planned. Ari came to SPIN when his previous owner realized that the path she had hoped for him — training as a service dog — was not the right fit for his temperament. While Ari is a very sweet and loyal dog, he found some environments, particularly busy stores, overwhelming. In addition, he has experienced three seizures over the past year that required monitoring and veterinary investigation that went beyond what his owner could provide.
Recognizing that Ari deserved a life where he could feel comfortable and supported, his owner made the difficult but thoughtful decision to ask SPIN for help in finding him a home that better suits who he is.
Since arriving in foster care, Ari has been settling into a more relaxed routine and showing his foster family what a fun and affectionate companion he can be. He loves playing with other dogs, adores squeaky toys and a good game of fetch, and is always happy to head out for walks or splash in the water. Like many sensitive dogs, Ari can be a little nervous when first meeting new people, but with patience, treats, and a bit of time, his playful and loyal personality shines through.
