Silky Terrier and Yorkshire Terrier Dogs Available for Adoption

Are you or your family looking for a spunky little companion that will be your inseparable shadow for every activity? Malla could be that special little dog. Part Silky Terrier, she wants nothing more than to be your lapdog and escort for the rest of your life. She loves attention, and dances around when her humans come home. She is fabulous with kids over 5 (more attention) and could take or leave other dogs (humans are clearly her favorite!). She is obsessed with cucumbers!! Malla was rescued from a local shelter where she came in as a stray. She weighs about 8 pounds and is about 5 years old. When the vet spayed her, they thought that she had previously had puppies.

We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention.

All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

The Silky Terrier, also known as the Sydney Silky, is a small, elegant dog breed characterized by its silky, blue and tan coat. Originating from Australia, these energetic and confident dogs are known for their playful and affectionate nature towards their owners. Silky Terriers are intelligent and quick learners, excelling in training and agility activities. They require regular grooming to maintain their luxurious coat and should receive ample exercise and mental stimulation to thrive in a loving household.

The Yorkshire Terrier, also known as Yorkie, is a small and glamorous toy dog breed known for its long, flowing coat and spirited personality. Originating from England, these affectionate and intelligent dogs make wonderful companions for individuals and families alike. With a weight of around 7 pounds, Yorkies are portable and adaptable, thriving in both city apartments and rural settings. Despite their small size, they possess a bold and confident nature, always ready for fun and adventure.
