Lainey’s Story of Hope!

Lainey’s story began on the streets just south of San Antonio, Texas. She was alone and vulnerable, yet carried a sweetness that somehow survived despite everything she had endured. A kind gentleman found her and immediately knew that taking her to a local shelter would almost certainly mean euthanasia within days. He couldn’t bear that thought—not when he could clearly see how gentle and loving she was, not when he knew this girl deserved the chance to be part of a family.
He reached out to rescue after rescue, hoping someone would say yes. Each time, the answer was no. Then, in February of 2024, our phone rang. When we heard about Lainey—how young she was, how gentle and well-mannered she was—we didn’t hesitate. We said yes.

When Lainey was brought to the vet, she was estimated to be only about two years old. She melted hearts instantly with her calm nature and trusting eyes. We had her fully vetted, spayed, and she showed everyone just how special she truly was. She was wonderful on a leash, happy to stay close, and walked politely as if she already knew how to be someone’s best friend. It came as no surprise that Lainey was adopted almost immediately.
In her adoptive home, Lainey thrived. She was gentle with toddlers, friendly with other dogs, house and crate trained, and content just being near her people. She was deeply loved—and she loved just as deeply in return. But sometimes life takes unexpected turns. The fencing at her home began to fail, and despite their efforts, Lainey was able to get out repeatedly. The family was already facing hardship, and the repairs needed to keep her safe simply weren’t possible.
The decision to bring Lainey back to rescue was heartbreaking. It wasn’t because they didn’t love her. It wasn’t because they didn’t want her. It was because they loved her enough to put her safety first.

Now, Lainey is waiting once again.

She is still the same beautiful soul—sweet, gentle, affectionate, and eager to love. She would do wonderfully in a home with or without other dogs and walks beautifully on a leash. What she truly wants is a family to call her own, a place where she can finally stay for good.
Lainey will turn three years old in March of 2026. And for her birthday, she wants nothing more than a home again—a couch to curl up on, a familiar voice calling her name, and a family that won’t ever have to let her go.
She is up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative. She is a good girl who has already lost more than she ever should have.

Could you find it in your heart to make Lainey’s birthday wish come true and give her the forever home she so deeply deserves?

She’s ready to love again—and hoping this time, it’s for life. 🐾❤️
