FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!

Meet the Leafy Greens litter - yah, silly names for some gorgeous and unusual puppies. Most of the these babies look nothing like mommy (photo here) - who we honestly thought was a collie or Aussie mix. But the DNA of Husky / Pitbull (likely red nosed) and 13 other breeds makes them a fun blend and all MUTT!
OMG... these babies are BEAUTIFUL! Stunning. Social. Sooooo freaking friendly - just super fun puppies. They are soft and sweet. They just arrived to Washington State and are now getting into foster homes, learning all things puppy! Chard is so fluffy - soft and fluffy - just like mommy. She's got such pretty eyes. It's so funny, in some the photos she's very serious and in others she's kind of a big dork.
This puppy is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated to appropriate age when they go home. They will need more puppy shots at 13 weeks, and at 18 weeks.
Puppies are good with dogs, cats, kids and more. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot! They will cry in their crate, might need a potty break in the middle of the night. They will pee and poop in your house - your fault ;) - and will chew on your shoes, your children’s toys and maybe even the furniture. But… once transitioned into your home, will be life long companions!
The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training.
Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.
Adoptions typically take place in Stanwood. They are available 4/18 and we will be at an event in Arlington from 11AM to 1PM to do meet and greets. You must have an approved application to take a puppy home.
Adoption fee is $525. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.
Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home.
Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.
