Shih Tzu Dogs Available for Adoption

Ivy loves love. She's estimated to be between 1 and 2 years old, loves food, naps and being next to her human. She's unsure of new people and kids but will warm up to adults if food is involved. She can be food aggressive due to her love of food. Her food is measured out to help keep her at a healthy weight. Ivy loves to be touched and gets weekly brushing, ear and teeth cleaning. She gets along with other dogs as she has Oliver being fostered with her and a resident dog that she is good with. She loves running around the yard and learning to walk on a leash. Not fully potty trained and any accidents happen on a training pad. Ivy plays with toys but prefers to be sitting next to her person. When she plays with Oliver she seems to be puppy like and wrestles him and chases him. She sleeps in her crate at night as long as she can see her human in the room with her or else she will be vocal about not wanting to be in there. Ivy was spayed 2/6/26 and is ready to settle down in her forever home.

Background: A massive puppy mill bust that we’ve been asked to help take on some dogs. They’re all shihtzu mixes. These dogs will all need shaved completely. 20 yrs of rescue and even I’ve never seen dogs this bad. I don’t even know how a groomer can get through these mats, some solid blocks and a few we were unable to determine sexes. We got 19. Amazing that all of these dogs are only about a year to 2 yrs old at the most Most were easy to handle. A couple gave us a little growl but no attempts to bite. Be prepared, these dogs are disgusting. They smell they have fleas and ticks some can barely move from the mats on their legs. They have zero vetting and won’t for a while. No vet could even give a shot until shaved down. We can start setting vet appts after Jan 1. All are shihtzus or Lhasas. I’m sure this puppy mill will make the news. About 80 dogs in deplorable living conditions. And people were buying puppies off these people for Christmas!!!
