Meet sweet Java 💕

Java is a tiny 10-lb, 6½-year-old Shih Tzu mix with a tender heart and a story of incredible resilience. She is spayed, fully vetted, and up to date on all her vaccinations.

Java spent her early life in a puppy mill in Utah, living in kennels and used for breeding. Because of that, she needs a calm, patient, one-on-one home with no other pets, where she can finally learn that love is safe and meant just for her.

She has already made beautiful progress. After just three weeks, she will gently take treats from a hand. She’s timid and cautious at first, but when she allows herself to be held, she melts into cuddles and absolutely loves ear rubs. 😊 Watching her peek around the corner to see where her person is will melt your heart — she’s quiet, curious, and very observant.

Java is intelligent and learning quickly:
• Uses a doggie door and puppy pads
• Comfortable on a harness and leash
• Enjoys her walks
• Does well in a calm routine

Due to the effects of repeated breeding, she has had her teeth removed, but she eats well. She enjoys Freshpet for small dogs, and for dinner she happily eats chicken, sweet potatoes, or hamburger.

Java doesn’t need much — just patience, gentleness, and someone devoted to showing her that she is cherished. With the right person, she will continue blossoming into the loving companion she was always meant to be. ❣️🙏
