Dixie is a lovely, gentle soul who settled into home life instantly. Truly - she walked through the door at her foster's residence, found the couch, and decided life was good. She's that easy.

Dixie came to us a little unsure of her schedule, but once she settled into a routine, accidents stopped completely. She's been perfect ever since. Structure really helps her shine.

Dixie will bark to let you know she wants inside, and she's smart enough to recognize the sound of "her" people coming home. She'll announce your arrival with a few excited barks - it's pretty adorable. She's unfazed by noisy neighbour dogs and doesn't join in. She minds her own business and keeps her cool.

If it's soft, comfy, or elevated, Dixie believes it's hers. Couch? Bed? Chair? She'll hop up with confidence and make herself comfortable. She's a professional snuggler and a champion lounger.

Dixie loves to play - especially fetch. She also enjoys rummaging through her toy box to pick out treasures. Some items are too small to leave out (big dog siblings + tiny toys = no thanks), but she's happy to play and then have them tucked away safely.

She's been playing beautifully with her foster brother, Hamish the Wolfhound and gets along well with the other dogs and the three cats in the home.

Dixie likes to be near you, but she's not clingy. She doesn't panic if you leave the room or go downstairs. With other pets around, she's content and confident - no signs of separation anxiety here.

Dixie would be a wonderful companion for anyone wanting a calm, loving dog who still enjoys playtime. She'd thrive with another friendly dog but would also be perfectly happy as the center of someone's world.
