Shih Tzu Dogs Available for Adoption

This young, tiny Shih Tzu is going to be available for adoption into her forever home very soon. I received her as a foster on December 14, 2025. On December 17, she gave birth to 4 baby shih tzus. She came to me named Missy, which we have continued to call her. However, I have added Tzu as her middle name "Missy Tzu". She is expected to be around two years old.

Missy Tzu absolutely nailed it in her mama roll. I watched the baby give birth to four beautiful babies of her own. She protected them, fed them, cleaned them, and constantly made sure they were all accounted for. She was incredible and it was amazing and entertaining to watch her and her puppies. At eight weeks, the puppies were all adopted into their forever homes and Missy was able to begin her life, again, as a young, happy, little dog.

Missy Tzu went to the veterinarian, on Tuesday February 22, to have her cherry eye repaired and to be spayed. She has healed beautifully and is ready for her new home.

Missy has an issue that I must mention. She does not understand to let her human know that she needs to go outside to potty. She has improved, in this area, since she stopped nursing the puppies, but not completely. When she is taken outside, she does her business; she just doesn't know to tell someone when she needs to go. My vet said that sometimes shih tzus can be hard to train, but she ensured me that she is trainable.

Missy Tzu loves all other dogs whether they are big or small and she likes cats. If I did not already have two dogs of my own, I would 100% adopt this baby. She is 9 lbs of pure joy and personality and I love her very much. She is cute, funny, playful, loving, smart, and just overall precious. If I could keep her, I would get professional help with the potty training since I have not yet been able to fully train her.

As her foster mama, who loves her very much, I wish for her:

1) A patient, loving human who is willing to do whatever it takes to get her house trained. She needs someone who is really good at dog training and/or willing to pay for professional help.

2) A fenced backyard. Missy is not a runner. She likes to be with her people, but just for safety sake, she needs a fenced backyard or someone to stay out with her at all times. As a side note, she had never been on a leash when she came to me. She learned very quickly to walk with a leash and does so good now.

3) A friend to play with. She loves to play so much! She will play until she drops! I would love for her to have a little playmate/companion.
