🐶 Basics
● Dog’s Name (include nicknames – we know you have them!): Albert, Alby
● Age / Size: 3, 15 lbs
Rescued in Texas
💛 Personality Snapshot
● Describe in 3–5 words: Affable, Playful, Snuggly, Curious, Friendly
● Energy level (Low / Moderate / High): Low/Moderate
● More people‑oriented or independent? He loves being around people but also seems happy to do his own thing.
● How do they handle new situations? He’s very happy to go with the flow.
🐕 Social & Home Life
● How are they with people (adults/kids/new people)? We haven’t met a ton of new people, but he warmed up to us instantly and keeps trying to say hi to everyone on the street.
● How are they with other dogs? We haven’t encountered many other dogs but we ran into a poodle mix on the street that he tried to play with and doesn’t seem reactive at all when passing a grumpier dog on the street.
● Cats or other animals (if known)? Unknown
● Behavior when left alone or when guests visit: Unknown
🎓 Training & Manners
● Potty trained? Yes
● Crate trained? Unknown
● Leash skills: He pulls a little but is fairly easy to guide. He’s mostly just super curious outside and gets super excited when we grab the leash at the door.
🌞 Daily Life
● Typical day with you: He wakes us up around 7 with kisses. We usually walk him around 7:30 and feed him after. During the day he mostly naps while occasionally coming over to us to snuggle or play for a bit. We take him out on another longer walk in the afternoon and evening which he gets really excited for. Overall he really just goes with the flow and is very clear but respectful whenever he needs anything.
● Exercise needs: He loves playing and walking but doesn’t seem to require long hour+ walks to tire him out.
● Favorite activities or toys: Walking, fetch, tug o war. He really loves tennis balls.
🌱 Growth Areas
● Anything they’re still working on? We honestly haven’t noticed any serious behaviors that need work. He’s well behaved, incredibly friendly, isn’t destructive at all, doesn’t try to go after our food, and is potty trained. He doesn’t really know any commands so that could be something to work on and he tugs a bit on the leash, but is still easy to lead.
● What helps them succeed? We’re still trying to find out if he’s treat motivated. He’s not super excited by treats right now, but that could change as he gets used to us.
🏡 Ideal Home
● Only dog / With dog / Either: I think he’d be good with either. He’s fairly independent but loves to play. I imagine he’d get along great with another friendly dog.
● Good fit for apartment living? Yes, he’s small so he does well in limited space.
● Best type of household (active, moderate, calm): I think moderate would be best because of how much he loves to go out but I think he could really do well in either.
● What kind of adopter would be the best match? It’s hard to imagine him not fitting in well with just about anyone. I think he’d do best with someone who really wanted to play with him and shower him with love. He doesn’t require a lot of changing and has very few needs. Just an all around incredible well behaved little guy.
💙 Foster Note
We were just struck by how quickly he adjusted compared to other fosters we’ve had before. He immediately started showering us with kisses and cuddles. He’s an absolute goofball who will wriggle around on you when he wants pets. Easily one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met.
