MY AGE: 1 year WEIGHT: 11 lbs.

MY STORY: Mason is a little guy with the sweetest crooked smile, an adorable underbite, and long legs that make his prancing, frolicking walk extra cute. He may be a Shih Tzu–Poodle mix, and he definitely has the charm to match. Once he feels safe, all he really wants is a cozy lap to curl up in—he absolutely melts in your arms and loves being close to his person.

Mason is still adjusting to home life and can be anxious with sudden movements or new situations. When he gets scared, he may have accidents, and he’s currently working on house training (he’s been using a belly band in the meantime and has not shown any marking behavior in the home). He’s a little bit underweight and very food motivated, which will help as he continues to build confidence and routine.

He has some clumsy, puppy-like energy that can be a bit much for other dogs at times, so a patient home—potentially with a calm or tolerant dog, or as an only pet—would be a great fit. Mason will do best with someone who is home most of the time and can give him the consistency, reassurance, and gentle guidance he needs to feel secure.

He has started walking on a harness and is doing well so far—this is something he’ll continue to improve on with time and practice.
With patience and love, Mason is going to be an incredibly devoted (and very adorable!) little companion.
