Kara is a beautiful, calm, sweet, and quietly smart little girl who brings peaceful, steady energy to any home. She's mellow, easygoing, and gentle - a low-maintenance companion.

Quick facts:
Dog-friendly: Lives harmoniously with 8 foster dogs, respects space, and learned stairs to stay with the pack.
Compassionate: Stayed with a scared foster dog overnight to offer comfort.
Adaptable & fast learner: Picked up the foster routine and learned to eat in a crate by watching others.
House manners: Potty-trained - goes outside when available or uses a wee-wee pad; sleeps peacefully near humans and dogs.
Play & curiosity: Enjoys toys and zoomies, making adorable yard rounds in her neat rectangle pattern.
Gentle with people: Food-motivated, takes treats softly, tolerates baths and car rides well.
Home behavior: Loves looking out the window; not yet tested with kids or cats but likely fine given her laid-back nature.

Kara may need a few days to decompress. She can be shy at first and may prefer to eat privately, but with patience she warms up beautifully and becomes affectionate and easy to approach. She'd thrive in a calm home with another gentle dog who matches her vibe.

Old Dominion Humane Society (ODHS) Adoption Process
- Complete our Adoption Survey on the Adopt page of our website at https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-survey to expedite the process and arrange a meet-and-greet. Expect a response within about a week; please check your spam folder. As we're 100% volunteer-run, your patience is appreciated!

Requirements And Donations
- Required Adoption Day Items: A martingale collar and a non-retractable leash (available for purchase at ODHS).
- Adoption Donations: Puppies (under 1 year): $375; Adults: $275; Seniors (age-dependent): $175; Select dogs: $500. We accept cash, debit, and credit cards.
- Adoption Radius: Within 350 miles of Fredericksburg, VA. A $50 out-of-state fee applies.
- Breed Identification: Dogs are listed as "Mixed Breed" unless formal documentation is available.

- Visit our adoption center at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Fredericksburg, VA 22408 during adoption hours: Wednesday 5-7 PM; Friday 6-8 PM; Saturday 11 AM-3 PM; Sunday 11 AM-1 PM.
