Meet Ernie!
Sweet little Ernie is a 2-year-old, 56 pound scruffy pup who appears to be a Shih Tzutype mixed breed, possibly with some Chihuahua in his family tree. With his fluffy coat, expressive eyes, and adorable little beard, he has that classic teddy bear look that small companion dogs are known for.
Ernie arrived in Ohio with a group of other "littles" from Tennessee including his buddy Bert (of course).
Ernie likes to take a moment to observe new situations before jumping right in, but he is friendly with people and warms up nicely once he feels comfortable the kind of little dog who will form a very special bond with his person. His coat is currently a bit shaggy and he will likely benefit from a grooming appointment soon, but underneath all that fluff is a very sweet little face just waiting to shine.
Because of his tiny size and gentle nature, Ernie would do best in a home that can give him patience, kindness, and a little time to adjust. Once he settles in and feels safe, we think his sweet personality will really shine and hell become a very devoted little companion.
