Meet Teddy (Cash), a very special foster boy looking for a patient, understanding forever home.
Teddy came from a mill situation. He was not adopted until he was 6 months old and was surrendered after just four days in his first home, through no fault of his own. He is still learning what the world is. New people, loud noises, and busy environments make him nervous. But once he gets comfortable, he truly blossoms into the happiest, most loving companion you could ask for.
Because of his past, Teddy is terrified of many new things, places, and experiences. Leashes are still very scary and confusing for him, and he currently freezes when one is put on. He will need a secure fenced yard where he can safely go outside and explore while continuing to build confidence at his own pace.
Teddy absolutely loves other dogs and needs a home with at least one confident, friendly dog companion. He would not do well as an only dog. Having another dog around helps him feel safe, build confidence, and learn how to navigate the world. He lights up around other dogs and gains comfort from having them nearby. He also knows some helpful words like “come,” “eh-eh,” and “go potty.”
Because the world can still feel overwhelming, Teddy would do best in a calm home where things are not too loud or chaotic. He does not love his kennel and can be vocal when kenneled or left alone, so an apartment or shared-wall living situation would not be a good fit. He would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time and where he has a dog buddy for comfort.
Outside of being kenneled or left alone, Teddy is not a big barker. He is calm and quiet in the home and is not bothered by everyday noises.
Despite his fears, Teddy is truly a happy little boy at heart. He loves to play, get pets, and lounge around. He is also doing well with potty training and continues to make great progress every day.
With patience, consistency, and love, Teddy settles in and starts to shine. When he feels safe, his sweet, loving personality comes through in the best way. He just needs someone willing to give him the chance he deserves.
Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional's recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal's history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.
The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online forms here as well.
