DESCRIPTION
Athena is a Shiba Inu girl with an independent spirit and a tender heart. She loves walks and adventure -- just don't rush her with the harness (it becomes a playful game of catch!). Once it's on, she's ready to explore. She adores other dogs and would love a gentle, playful canine friend to wrestle, cuddle, and lounge beside -- especially in a fenced backyard. She's house-trained, confidently uses a doggie door, and enjoys coming and going to check on her humans. Keep her mind busy with toys and enrichment, or she may create her own fun with "forbidden treasures". Athena is quiet for her breed (unless squirrels are involved!) and gentle with people, but she prefers to choose when to interact. She'll happily share space and, once comfortable, offer soft pets and little finger licks. She's looking for a dog buddy, patient humans, positive routines, and people who respect her space. In return, you'll gain a sensitive, playful companion with a beautifully independent heart. Please research her breed. Adoption fee is $350, if you're interested in meeting Athena, fill out an application at https://rescuerehabrehome.org/dog-adoption-applicationRescue Rehab Rehome does not adopt animals outside the state of Iowa. We do not adopt unaltered animals to adopters living more than a 45 minute drive from the Des Moines, Iowa metropolitan area. We are not able to respond to questions about an animal unless we have received an adoption application.
