Soy was rescued from Incheon City Shelter in South Korea, an overcrowded municipal shelter. She successfully completed treatment for Parvovirus and skin issues while in rescue care and is now a beautifully healthy, happy puppy.

Soy will travel to the United States through our rescue’s flight volunteer program once she is adopted. Our team coordinates international transport and guides adopters through the entire arrival process to ensure a smooth and safe transition.

• Tends to build up earwax in one ear, so regular ear cleaning is recommended

• Very food motivated and eats enthusiastically
• Tends to swallow food quickly without chewing — a slow feeder bowl is recommended
• Portion and weight monitoring will be important as she grows

🌸 Personality Overview

Soy is an affectionate, playful, and expressive puppy once she feels comfortable with you. She can be a little shy when meeting new people and prefers gentle introductions rather than being approached too quickly.

If you give her a little space at first, she will soon approach on her own, rub against you, and quickly become your shadow. Because she loves food, earning her trust with treats is very easy.

Once she bonds with her people, Soy becomes a true cuddle bug and loves staying close to her humans. She enjoys being part of the household and thrives when she feels included in daily life.

Like many young puppies, she is still learning boundaries and may sometimes protest when being picked up, but she responds well to calm guidance and positive reinforcement.

👨‍👩‍👧 With Adults & Children

• Prefers people who understand giving her a little space when first meeting
• Warms up quickly and becomes very affectionate
• Limited experience with children so far
• Calm, respectful children who allow her to approach first would likely be a good match

🐕 With Other Dogs & Cats

• Currently fostered with a large mixed-breed dog and gains confidence from having a canine companion
• Very playful with other dogs and enjoys active play sessions
• Typical puppy energy, so a tolerant dog friend is ideal
• Needs a short adjustment period with unfamiliar dogs
• During walks she generally ignores other dogs

She has also met a resident cat at a café and showed no interest 🐱.

🏠 Home Life & Separation

• Fully potty trained using both pee pads indoors and outdoor potty breaks
• Currently stays home for up to 10 hours with the resident dog and does well
• May become anxious if left completely alone without humans or another dog

She can startle easily at loud indoor noises like vacuums and may hide under the bed or in corners until she feels safe again.

The Jindo, a Korean native breed renowned for its loyalty, courage, and intelligence, is highly prized for its unwavering loyalty to its family. This medium sized, spitz type dog has a distinctive double coat that sheds seasonally. Known for their independent nature, Jindos require early socialization and firm, consistent training. With a strong prey drive and territorial instincts, they excel as hunters and watchdogs. Their deep bonds with their owners make them loving companions, albeit not suitable for inexperienced owners.

The Shiba Inu is a small to medium sized dog breed known for its fox like appearance, with a curled tail and upright ears. Originating from Japan, Shiba Inus are independent, alert, and spirited dogs. They are loyal to their families but can be reserved around strangers. Recognized for their bold and confident nature, Shiba Inus require consistent training and socialization to thrive. With a thick double coat and a distinct red, sesame, or black and tan coloration, Shiba Inus are charming companions for active individuals or families.
