Ben — The Little Survivor With the Big Heart

Some dogs carry a softness that doesn’t match the life they’ve lived. Ben is one of those souls.
At just 1.5 years old, this sweet boy had already learned what it meant to survive alone. He was found wandering the streets of Angleton, TX, doing everything he could just to make it through another day. Instead of finding safety, he was taken to a high‑kill shelter — the kind where dogs go in, but very few ever walk back out.
But Ben got his miracle. Someone saw him. Someone believed he deserved more.
And now he’s learning, day by day, what it means to be loved.

Ben is a beautiful mix of sweetness, energy, and hope — a dog who loves big, moves fast, and tries his hardest to understand this new world he’s been given.
• He’s on the smaller side at only about 42 lbs
• he is social and gets along with other dogs.
• He’s non‑aggressive, affectionate, and happiest when he’s close to his people
• He’s high‑energy and athletic, with a natural love for jumping — he’d shine in agility or dock diving
• He’s not very treat‑motivated, but affection is his reward
• Once he burns off some energy, he’s wonderful in public
• He loves going on runs and even runs beautifully beside a horse
• He will chase cats and birds — his prey drive is real
• Not recommended for small kids or elderly folks simply because he’s excitable and could knock them over
Ben isn’t perfect — he’s young, eager, and still learning — but he is trying with his whole heart. After everything he’s survived, he deserves someone who will meet him where he is and help him grow into the incredible dog he’s meant to be.
He is neutered, fully vetted, and heartworm negative — healthy, safe, and ready for his next chapter.

Ben survived the streets. He survived the shelter. Now he just needs someone willing to love him enough to help him thrive.
