DESCRIPTION

Leah is a 1-year-old Heeler/Shepherd mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for being active. She’s already fully crate trained and house trained, and she’s incredibly smart and food motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding with her. Like many herding breeds, Leah is curious about everything around her and always ready to move, explore, and be part of whatever you’re doing.

She absolutely loves being outside—parks, hikes, or anywhere she can run and burn off some of that happy energy. When she gets excited she even does these little flips that are impossible not to smile at.

Leah can be a little unsure when first meeting new people, but once she settles in you can see how interested she is in the world around her. Because she’s a herding breed, she can be a bit pushy with other dogs and tends to do best with larger dogs and a confident handler who understands working breeds. She also has a strong prey drive, so a home without small children or cats would likely be the best fit, though she has been around cats during training in her foster home.

Leah isn’t a couch potato—she’s the kind of dog who will thrive with someone who enjoys staying active and keeping her mind engaged. In the right home, she’ll be an incredibly loyal, fun companion who’s always ready for the next adventure.

If you’re looking for a smart, energetic dog who wants to be your partner in life (and on the trails), Leah might be your girl. 🐕
