DESCRIPTION
Hi there, my name is Selkie! I was adopted as a young pup from ODR last spring and just found myself back at the rescue looking for my new home. I am now about a year and a half old and am a fairly petite 47 pounds.
My previous owner did my DNA and it turns out I am 50% German shepherd, 40% cattle dog and Aussie, and 10% Doberman. That means that I am a spunky, athletic, smart, energetic, and protective lady!
I was returned when my owner could no longer care for me due to no fault of my own, however, my previous mom did report that I do not like surprise men in my space. You can really see my genetics play out with this- I'm protective of my people and can be nippy and herdy if provoked. That means I shouldn't live with kiddos under age 12 and in a space that will help me with guests entering my space with proper introductions.
I do well with other dogs but do not want to live with kitties please! If you are looking for the ultimate adventure dog who comes with a ton of practice with tricks and cues and knows how to live in a home, I could be your girl! My perfect home would be 1-2 people who love to frequently do things like camping, hiking, running, or dog sports. Come and meet me today!
