Some dogs carry a quiet strength that simply demands to be noticed, and Leonessa is one of them. Rescued from a high-density municipal shelter program in Albania, Leonessa's journey hasn't been easy. After surviving a severe attack by other dogs, she suffered a painful neck injury that required specialized revision surgery. Thanks to dedicated rescue care, her wound has healed beautifully, and her resilient spirit remains completely untouched.

Out of hundreds of dogs in need, Leonessa was chosen for rescue for one simple reason: she is uniquely, unforgettably sweet. Despite everything she's been through, her heart is pure gold. She loves people of all ages-including children-and interacts wonderfully with other dogs.

Leonessa has already learned to ride politely in the car and is walking great on a leash! Since she has spent her life in shelter care, she will need a patient foster or adoptive family to gently teach her house training, but her eager-to-please nature will make the transition a breeze.
