Vader is a gorgeous black shepherd with good manners, a happy personality, and just enough goofball in him to keep things fun. He’s housebroken, heartworm negative, knows how to sit on command, and is overall just a .

He’s sweet, confident, and friendly, with the kind of easygoing personality that makes him a great fit for a lot of different homes. He’d make a wonderful family dog, but he’d also be just as happy being somebody’s one-and-only best friend.

Like a lot of shepherds, Vader can be a little talkative, but that just adds to his charm. He likes being part of what’s going on and has plenty of personality to go with those good looks.

If you’re a fan of big, fluffy, happy-go-lucky dogs, Vader is your guy. He’s got the looks, the manners, and the kind of personality that makes it easy to picture him stretched out in your house like he’s lived there for.

Vader's $300 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip AND transport fee to a location near you. We currently have transportation to CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, GA, and TN. Please email transport@hssm.org for more information on transports!

A staff member will reach out if your application is approved to discuss the adoption process. No fenced in yard required, and YES - we adopt to families with children! The adoption will not be final until the adoption contract is discussed and signed. Transports are arranged for specific dates, typically within 1-3 weeks of approving your application.
