Hi, I'm Hazel!

I've been through a rough situation, but I'm learning that the world can be a pretty wonderful place, and I'm excited to discover it at my own pace. I may need a little time to warm up to new people and new surroundings, but once I decide something is safe, my sweet personality really starts to shine.

I LOVE affection and will happily roll over for belly rubs. I'm a bit of a Velcro dog when I'm awake and want to be part of whatever my people are doing, but I'm also perfectly happy snoozing in my own bed when it's time to rest. I especially love lounging outside in the grass somewhere quiet and peaceful.

I've been around several dogs and enjoy making friends on my own terms. When I'm feeling playful, I'm happy to romp and play with my dog friends, but when I need some space, I'm content to lounge at my person's feet. I'm also discovering how much fun toys can be!

I'm curious about the world around me, and every new experience is a chance to learn. I'm not a fan of loud noises, elevators, or car rides just yet, so I'm looking for someone who will be patient and help me build confidence. I'm also still working on my house training and crate training, so I'll need a family willing to give me time, consistency, and lots of encouragement.

And I have to mention my BIG stretches, I can do the best downward dog and upward dog! At night, I love being tucked in with my blankets and relaxing to some gentle white noise.

I've come a long way, and I have so much love and personality waiting to come out. If you're willing to give me the patience and kindness I need to feel safe, I'll be so happy to show you just how special I am. ...
