Sasha is a stunning 2.5-year-old German Shepherd mix with a tender heart and an even bigger zest for life. After being found wandering the streets of North-east Texas, she spent four long months in a shelter. Even in that stressful environment, she quickly became a staff favorite — the kind of dog who melts hearts with her sweetness and playful personality.

When Sasha appeared on the euthanasia list, the shelter team rallied behind her, and Our Pet Project stepped in to give her the second chance she so deeply deserved.

Now thriving in her foster home alongside two large dogs, one small dog, and a whole crew of cats, Sasha’s true personality is shining. She may take a little time to warm up, but once she trusts you, she is completely devoted — loyal, affectionate, and deeply bonded to her people. The playful, loving, incredibly smart girl she’s always been has finally had the space to thrive and bloom.

After a good play session or some enrichment time, Sasha is a world-class cuddler. She loves curling up close, soaking in affection, and simply being near her people. She has that beautiful balance of fun energy and calm companionship.

• Dogs: She does well with dogs who communicate clearly and enjoy playful engagement. If another dog sets boundaries, Sasha respects them beautifully.
• Cats: She has been respectful and well-mannered around dog-savvy cats and coexists comfortably.
• Kids: Sasha has done well with children, though her exposure has been limited. She would thrive best with older kids who understand how to interact respectfully with dogs.
