Shepherd and Husky Dogs Available for Adoption in Chattanooga, Tennessee

Mama Dolores (Mama Dolo) is a young, affectionate Shepherd/Husky mix with a big personality and even bigger zoomies. We estimate she is likely under two years old, and she is fully embracing her puppy era. Mama Dolo was found as a heavily pregnant stray and raised her babies like a pro. Now that her puppies have all found homes, she is finally getting her chance to just be a dog and she is making the most of it.

Mama Dolo is pure joy in motion. She is silly, playful, and full of energy, with a signature move that involves launching herself into the air like a little goat and sprinting in endless circles around the yard. A securely fenced yard with at least a 6 foot fence is a must for this athletic girl, as she can jump surprisingly high and has been known to test shorter fences. She absolutely loves other playful dogs and would have a blast with a puppy buddy who can match her energy and doesn’t mind her rough-and-rowdy play style. That said, she will need thoughtful, slow introductions and does best with dogs who are confident and not reactive, as she does not respond well to aggression.

When she’s not running full speed laps, Mama Dolo’s second favorite activity is being as close to her people as possible. She is incredibly affectionate and loves couch time, often rolling belly up for rubs and fully leaning into the cuddles. She is housebroken, very smart, and has been picking up on training quickly. She will benefit from continued one-on-one work, especially with leash skills, but she is eager to learn and loves engaging with her people. Mama Dolo would thrive in an active home that can give her plenty of exercise, structure, and playtime. She could make an amazing first dog for someone ready for a fun, energetic companion, with the option to add a second playful dog down the line.
