We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.

Please note our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation.

Cinnamon, 10 months, neutered male, Shepherd mix, 30 pounds. He is currently in a foster home in Houston, Texas and is able to transport once an adopter is approved. We anticipate him not growing too much bigger, so we are not sure his exact breeds.

Meet Cinnamon — A Brave Little Soul Learning the World Isn’t So Scary 🐾

Cinnamon is a sensitive, high-energy puppy who has already come such a long way in foster care. Once unsure and fearful of the world, he’s slowly discovering that life can be fun, safe, and full of love. With patience, structure, and kindness, Cinnamon blossoms into the sweetest, silliest companion you could ask for.

Personality & Heart
Cinnamon is affectionate, playful, curious, and incredibly loving once he trusts you. When he feels safe, his favorite place is right in your lap giving kisses and hugs. He can be shy with strangers and startled by sudden movements, so he needs a gentle adopter who understands that trust is something he builds over time. Underneath that cautious exterior is a deeply devoted best friend just waiting to shine.

Play Style & Energy
This boy is all puppy when it comes to playtime — high energy and easily overstimulated. He sometimes plays a little rough and hasn’t quite mastered reading when other dogs are done playing yet, but he does respond well to correction from confident dogs and will settle when guided. He’s still figuring out toys, but give him a good chew bone and he’s perfectly content.

Dog & Kid Compatibility

Does well with dogs of all sizes, especially confident adult dogs who can model good behavior

Would love a steady canine companion (not a puppy or senior) to learn from

Has seen children but can get overwhelmed or shy, so he’d do best in a home with older kids or adults only for now

Training & Home Life
Cinnamon is house-trained and crate-trained, and he does best in his crate when covered with a blanket. He’ll let you know when he needs to go out, and he settles well for up to about 5 hours. Because of his anxiety and curiosity, he shouldn’t be left loose unsupervised yet — he’s a clever little escape artist if doors are left open!

He will need continued training and confidence-building, especially with:

meeting new people

car rides

staying calm during stimulating moments

Leash & Adventure Skills
Walks are exciting for Cinnamon, sometimes very exciting. He may pull or whine at first, especially when he sees other dogs, but settles once he realizes he’s safe. He’ll need a confident handler who can guide him and help build his courage in the outside world. We have found using a gentle leader has helped tremendously.

Adorable Quirk
Cinnamon thinks hardwood floors are a game. He’ll slip, slide, and zoom around trying to get other dogs to chase him — it’s equal parts hilarious and heart-melting.

His Perfect Home
Cinnamon needs a patient, understanding adopter committed to helping him continue growing into a confident dog. He wasn’t socialized before rescue, so transitions can be hard and he may regress at first — but with time, reassurance, and positive training, he truly thrives. An active home with structure, love, and a friendly canine role model would be his dream.

Why Cinnamon?
Because watching a scared puppy learn to trust, love, and play is one of the most beautiful journeys you’ll ever witness. Whoever adopts Cinnamon won’t just be getting a dog — they’ll be gaining a loyal best friend whose gratitude shows in every cuddle.
