Shar Pei Dogs Available for Adoption

Sokie is a neutered male approximately 2 years old. He’s a sweet boy with people, but he is not getting along with the other dog in his home and since it’s a very small home, it is too much for his owner to deal with. She has reached out to us to help find him a new home. He is located in Alberta so a home in Alberta right away would be great but we are looking for something permanent for him and transport is a possible option. He does need to be the only dog at this point in his life. Our volunteer who went to meet him was very impressed with how sweet he was and how cute he is. He’s approximately 40 pounds.
Please reach out if you have a home with no other pets. We do think he would do best with a fence yard. .

The Shar Pei is a distinctive breed known for their deep wrinkles and blue black tongue. Originally from China, these medium sized dogs are loyal, independent, and protective of their families. Shar Peis have a unique appearance with a hippopotamus like face and a broad, padded muzzle. Their coat can be either horse coat or brush coat, coming in a variety of colors. While they can be aloof with strangers, Shar Peis are devoted companions with a calm demeanor, making them wonderful family pets.
