Shar Pei Dogs Available for Adoption

Blue came to us from El Centro almost a month ago and has done great in her foster home. Initially she was a bit nervous with the new dogs but once she learned that they posed no threat she has been totally fine with them. Blue is both vision and hearing impaired so it is understandable that a new situation was a bit scary at first.

Blue is estimated at 10 years old and is about 38 lbs. She had Entropion surgery and also a Hernia repair there at the shelter. We had bloodwork done and it looked very good for a lady her age. Blue is also spayed and current on vaccines. Blue is housebroken with regular opportunities to get out and like most super senior pups she enjoys snoozing her days away. The Shar Pei is a distinctive breed known for their deep wrinkles and blue black tongue. Originally from China, these medium sized dogs are loyal, independent, and protective of their families. Shar Peis have a unique appearance with a hippopotamus like face and a broad, padded muzzle. Their coat can be either horse coat or brush coat, coming in a variety of colors. While they can be aloof with strangers, Shar Peis are devoted companions with a calm demeanor, making them wonderful family pets.
