We're not quite sure how this handsome wrinkly boy is still waiting for his forever family, because Cheerio is the kind of dog people are always asking us for.
Cheerio is a young Shar Pei mix who is officially back in action after his cherry eye surgery and feeling fantastic. Now that his medical needs are behind him, there's only one thing left on his to do list: find his people.
And y'all, this boy makes it EASY.
Cheerio is house trained, crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, and does great with other dogs. He settles into a home beautifully and is just an all around easy guy to have around. He's happy to go for a walk, hang out with his dog friends, follow you around the house, or park himself nearby and supervise whatever you're doing.
He's affectionate without needing to be glued to you every second, playful without being a complete maniac, and has enough personality packed into those wrinkles to keep you smiling.
And we need to clear up one little rumor his pictures have apparently started: Cheerio is NOT a big dog. The camera has been adding at least 20 pounds. He's only around 30 pounds, which is pretty much the perfect size. Big enough for adventures, small enough that getting him into the bathtub won't require a forklift.
Cheerio has spent enough of his young life in rescue. He's healthy, happy, trained, dog friendly, ridiculously handsome, and ready to belong to somebody.
