TEDDY - Shar Pei and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Teddy enjoys playing tug of war, chewing on bones, and naps on comfy blankets/beds. He is crate and potty trained. He has successfully lived with a dog, but is particular about the dogs he socializes with. While he has lived with young children, he prefers his space respected so may do best in a mature home. He has not lived with cats. Teddy has been in shelter for two months!! I’m currently in a loving foster home offsite! Please allow up to 24 hours for my foster parent to respond. **I will require a behavior consult prior to adoption.** Inquiries are answered in the order received, and the foster parent will let you know your place in line if there are other interested adopters.

A meet-and-greet is required before adoption. Adopters should be available to meet within 48 hours of inquiring; otherwise, preference may be given to the next person in line who can meet sooner.

For everyone’s safety, current pets are not able to meet the foster animal before adoption.

After the meet-and-greet, you will have 24 hours to visit the HSPPR Adoptions Lobby (11:00am–4:30pm) or call 719-473-1741 to set up a behavior consult prior to finalizing the adoption.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. The Shar Pei is a distinctive breed known for their deep wrinkles and blue black tongue. Originally from China, these medium sized dogs are loyal, independent, and protective of their families. Shar Peis have a unique appearance with a hippopotamus like face and a broad, padded muzzle. Their coat can be either horse coat or brush coat, coming in a variety of colors. While they can be aloof with strangers, Shar Peis are devoted companions with a calm demeanor, making them wonderful family pets.
