DESCRIPTION
Somehow this poor little girl found herself frightened and alone on the streets not knowing what her next move was going to be. Her vision impaired by eyelids that rolled inwards causing pain and discomfort on the daily, sweet Yum-Yum Sauce was lost. Thankfully someone saw her and brought her to our shelter where it took some time to earn her trust, but then she showed her true colors of being a silly and lovely dog. Yum-Yum Sauce is a Shar Pei mix that weighs about 35# and is around a year old. She is now spayed and had surgery on her eyes to fix her unfortunate eyelid issue. She is still healing from that surgical procedure and stitches need to be removed but she is ready to embark on her new life with an adoptive family. The Shar Pei breed tends to be independent, protective, aloof and really gravitate toward one or two individuals. Yum-Yum displays those traits and due to her nervous energy, a home free of children will be her ideal situation. She is playful and will soon be introduced to some other dogs but she shows no signs of aggression, just young dog with playful energy. Yum-Yum Sauce's new family will need to know that trust is earned with her and it most likely will not be immediate but that she will come around and you'll be delighted with the silly and affectionate cat like dog she can be.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
The Shar Pei is a distinctive breed known for their deep wrinkles and blue black tongue. Originally from China, these medium sized dogs are loyal, independent, and protective of their families. Shar Peis have a unique appearance with a hippopotamus like face and a broad, padded muzzle. Their coat can be either horse coat or brush coat, coming in a variety of colors. While they can be aloof with strangers, Shar Peis are devoted companions with a calm demeanor, making them wonderful family pets.
