Shar Pei and Mixed Breed Dogs Available for Adoption

Hi there! My name is Rebecca and I'm at the Santa Maria Campus.

This sweet little pup is full of love and tail wags! Playful, curious, and always ready for cuddles, they're excited to find a family to grow up with.

Adoptions are open 12pm-4:30pm every day, except Wednesdays, and no appointment is needed.

Like all SBH animals, when I am adopted I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoptions also include a certificate for a complimentary post-adoption veterinary exam from a local clinic and our partners at Hills Science Diet will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.

The Shar Pei is a distinctive breed known for their deep wrinkles and blue black tongue. Originally from China, these medium sized dogs are loyal, independent, and protective of their families. Shar Peis have a unique appearance with a hippopotamus like face and a broad, padded muzzle. Their coat can be either horse coat or brush coat, coming in a variety of colors. While they can be aloof with strangers, Shar Peis are devoted companions with a calm demeanor, making them wonderful family pets.
