Meet Puppy Dutton — A New Year’s Baby Ready for His Forever Home

Dutton has quite the story already. His mama, a Schnauzer, made a new friend during an unexpected adventure, and a few weeks later… five puppies arrived. That’s how Dutton came to us, and we’re so glad he did.

Born on January 1st, 2026, Dutton truly is a fresh start in every sense. He is simply precious, with a kind, gentle nature that makes him stand out, even among puppies. While many puppies are nonstop energy, Dutton has a more balanced temperament. He is playful and curious, but also calm and easy to settle, making him a great fit for a variety of homes.

At around 16 pounds now, Dutton is expected to grow into a medium-sized dog, likely in the 35–40 pound range. He has all the makings of a wonderful lifelong companion.

Dutton is already off to a great start with training. He is crate trained and doing very well with housebreaking. He thrives on routine and is proving to be an obedient and eager-to-please pup. He listens well and responds beautifully to gentle guidance.

He is also incredibly affectionate. Dutton loves being close to his people, whether that means being carried, snuggling up beside you, or rolling over for belly rubs. He has that sweet, loving personality that makes you fall for him instantly.

Dutton would make an excellent family dog. He has the temperament, the trainability, and the gentle nature that make him a great addition to a home looking for a loyal and loving companion.

Getting Dutton Home:

Dutton will be neutered before adoption, microchipped & is already vaccinated and would benefit from being adopted by a dog-loving person who understands he has so much to offer but will need a little time to adjust and settle in with his new family.

NOTE: THIS IS AN "OUT OF TOWN PET" - that means he is not at this location but we do have transport here - more about transport below. Our Rescue is Houston based (https://www.facebook.com/TwilightTailsRescue) and all our fosters and Rescue Ranch are in and around Houston.

Currently this dog is being fostered at our Rescue Ranch near Houston, TX but can be brought close to your home on rescue transport which comes through your area once a month. Transport info below.

Adoption fee is $495 plus $30 for a health certificate and $250 for transport.

Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who can alternate. This is how we communicate in real time. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on-time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport.
