Foster notes: Niko’s story began as a stray, and when he was found he was in very rough shape—his coat was so badly matted that he had to be shaved down completely. Despite everything he’s been through, he is incredibly sweet and trusting.

Niko can be a little shy at first with new people and animals, but once he feels safe, his true personality shines through. Niko is a devoted little shadow who follows his foster everywhere, happiest when he’s close to his person. He would thrive with a retired person or couple who can spend lots of time with him, as he truly just wants companionship and affection.

While he hasn’t been left alone much in foster care, he has shown himself to be calm and adaptable, and he would make an amazing, loyal companion for just about any loving home. Niko is ready to trade his past for a future filled with cozy laps, gentle walks, and a forever family to call his own.
