DESCRIPTION
Meet Jacques Jacques is a one-year-old schnauzer/shepherd mix with a delightfully goofy look and a wiry brown-and-black coat to match his big personality. He’s still very much a young dog—playful, energetic, and always ready to turn an ordinary moment into something fun.
He already knows some great basics like sit and down, and he may even show off “paw” or “speak” once he’s comfortable. Jacques is smart and eager to engage, especially when there’s play involved. That said, he can get a little mouthy when he’s excited, so he’ll benefit from continued training and guidance to help him channel that energy in positive ways.
Jacques is looking for a very specific kind of home where he can truly thrive. He seems to bond most comfortably with women and can be wary of men, so a patient, dog-savvy female owner would be the best match for him. Because of his play style and sensitivity, he would do best in a home without children.
He enjoys other dogs who can match his energy and playfulness, though slow introductions are always important. At this time, we’re not sure how he feels about cats.
Jacques isn’t a “plug-and-play” kind of dog—he’ll need someone willing to invest time, patience, and consistency. But for the right person, he offers a lot in return: loyalty, laughter, and a truly unique companion who just needs someone to understand him.
If you’re active, experienced, and looking for a dog with personality (and a bit of goofy charm), Jacques might be your guy If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm. My adoption fee is $250
