Schipperke Dogs Available for Adoption

Roger is approximately 13 years old but acts very young at heart. Roger is very affectionate and does well with other dogs and cats. Roger is housebroken and ready to find his FURever home. Please consider welcoming Roger into your family!

FURS holds monthly adoptions stands where those interested can meet our four-legged crew available for adoption. Our next adoption stand will be on March 14th, 10:00 am to noon at Southern States in Midlothian (1200 Alverser Drive). We can make alternate arrangements for meeting the FURS dogs but we would require an approved application for adoption. There is no fee or obligation with submitting an adoption application and applications can be completed online at www.fursdogs.com.

A required step of our adoption process is to conduct a home visit. Since FURS is a very small, all-volunteer rescue, we can only support our adoption process to homes in the Richmond, VA and surrounding localities area

The Schipperke breed is a lively, small sized dog originating from Belgium. Known for its black coat and fox like appearance, the Schipperke is characterized by its fearless and independent nature. These intelligent and curious dogs are loyal companions, often forming strong bonds with their owners. Though they are small in size, Schipperkes have a big personality and require plenty of mental stimulation to keep them engaged. With proper training and socialization, the Schipperke can make a wonderful family pet for active households.
