Meet Clara! This gorgeous 5 year old Saint Bernard came to us from a rural North Carolina shelter. She is a very gentle, loving girl who has truly never met a stranger. Though she can be shy at first, Clara quickly warms up and shows that wonderful saint disposition. She gets along with other dogs, walks well on a leash, and seems to know some manners. The Saint Bernard is a large and gentle dog breed known for its loyalty, affectionate nature, and impressive strength. Originating from the Swiss Alps, these dogs were historically used as rescue dogs due to their keen sense of smell and ability to navigate through harsh terrain. With their iconic droopy jowls, expressive eyes, and massive build, Saint Bernards make wonderful family pets, often forming strong bonds with children and adults alike. Their calm demeanor and easygoing attitude make them a favored choice for those seeking a devoted and loving companion.
