Hi, I’m Beckham 💙 Apparently the rescue coordinator liked the name so much she named me after her human child 🤭 Either way, I think I wear it pretty well. I mean, have you seen these mahogany eyebrows and this shiny black coat? Everywhere I go people stop and tell me how handsome I am 😏 I try to stay humble, but it’s not easy when you’re built like a model
Before I landed in rescue, I actually showed up at the shelter wearing a T shirt. Yes, a real shirt. Fashionable, right? The humans still laugh about it and say I must have been someone’s dog at some point because who puts a shirt on a stray? I guess we may never know my full backstory, but I do know I’m ready for a brand new chapter 📖
I’m about two years old and growing into a big, strong boy 💪who will likely be around 100 pounds of pure loyalty. Underneath all that muscle though, I’m just a giant softie. I absolutely adore people. I bond quickly with kind humans and my favorite place in the world is right next to you. If you sit down, I will absolutely try to crawl into your lap. Yes, even if you think there’s no room. We can figure it out together🤭
Everywhere I go people talk about how sweet I am. I love attention, ear scratches, leaning my big head into your chest, and following my people around like their personal shadow. I’m also a big fan of car rides 🚗which makes me the perfect co pilot for coffee runs ☕️, road trips 🚙, or really any adventure where I get to be part of the family ⛺️✈️
There is one part of my story that made things a little harder for me. Before coming into rescue, I was attacked by another dog and it covered my whole face. It was scary, but It’s healing ❤️🩹 beautifully and the humans say I was incredibly brave through it all. Because of that experience, trusting other dogs is a little tough for me right now. I feel safest being the only dog in the home where I don’t have to worry about anything except loving my people 🥹 The rescue says that just means I get to be the star of the show 🤩
I have a lot of energy and a big zest for life, so I’d love a home that enjoys walks, playtime, and maybe a fenced yard where I can stretch my legs. The good news is I’m already house trained, crate trained, and I walk nicely on a leash. I’ve got a great foundation and I’m super smart 🧠 so learning new things with my future family sounds like a pretty fun plan 😏
Because I’m a big enthusiastic guy, I would do best in a home without small animals and with older kids. Mostly because I’m still convinced I’m a lap dog and sometimes forget how big I actually am 😏
What I’m really looking for is a forever home where I can finally feel safe, loved, and part of a family. Somewhere I can rest my big head on your knee, ride shotgun in the car, and make you laugh when I try to fold my 100 pound self onto the couch like a tiny puppy.🐶
If you’re looking for a loyal companion, a handsome adventure buddy, and a giant cuddle bug who thinks you are the best thing that ever happened… I might just be your guy 🥹💙
