DESCRIPTION

Meet Princess Tiana!

Looking for a fairy tale ending? Meet Tiana, a beautiful 1-2 year-old, 73 lb Rottweiler (age is estimated) who’s ready to trade her stray past for a life full of love, belly rubs, and maybe a couch she can accidentally tip over during a fit of the zoomies.

Much like her namesake, Tiana is full of heart, resilience, and charm. She may not be running a restaurant, but she is serving up nonstop affection!

About Tiana:

Total lovebug who warms up quickly to new people and dogs

Professional cuddle expert and aspiring lap dog (despite her size )

Loves belly rubs, wrestling with dog friends, and zooming around the house

Her little tail never stops wagging… and yes, her whole butt joins in!

Her Personality:

Tiana can be easily spooked in new environments or around unexpected noises—think of her as a sensitive princess adjusting to a big world. Because of this, she’d do best living in a quieter neighborhood, ideally with a fenced yard. If you don't have a fence, you will need to keep her securely leashed at all times while she builds her confidence. (When she gets spooked she will jump/startle or try to dart away. She isn't a barker and has never acted reactive in any way, even when scared.) She’s not your typical “guard dog” Rottweiler—no tough-girl security vibes here. Tiana is all softness, sweetness, and silliness.

Play Style & Energy:

This girl is what we lovingly call a “happy bull in a china shop.” When she gets excited, she goes all in—zoomies, couch collisions, flying rugs… nothing is safe from her enthusiasm. Because of her size and playful style:

Best suited for homes with kids ~8+, just so she doesn't knock them over haha

Would do best with medium/large dog friends who enjoy a rough-and-tumble play style

She has met cats and sniffed them politely, but does get excited and is a big girl! The cats in her foster home stay away.

While she loves to play and wrestle, she is happy to do so with dogs *or* people, so if you don't have a doggy friend for her you should be prepared to do some wrestling yourself!

Home Needs: Tiana’s goofy, full-speed personality means she’s not a great fit for small living spaces—no apartments or homes where every nook is filled with vases and potted plants (unless you’re okay with a little redecorating ). She’ll thrive in a home with space to move and ideally a large fenced yard to safely burn off her zoomies. Experience with large breed dogs would be great too!

Training & Habits:

- Kennel trained—goes in on her own and stays quiet, even for long work days

- Not housetrained, but keeps her kennel clean and dry and pees outside promptly. She definitely knows to potty outside, but is still adjusting to a new home routine and having a few accidents in the house here and there.

- Learning leash walking and building confidence outdoors. Does pull on leash if allowed to.

- Loves to sniff—her nose is always on a mission!

- Knows “sit” and is very treat-motivated (she’s a smart girl)

The Perfect Home for Tiana: An active, loving family who understands that even princesses can be a little unsure sometimes. With time and training Tiana will absolutely blossom into a loyal, joyful companion!

Apply at adoptapal.org/adopt to meet her! HER ADOPTION FEE IS $500. Tiana is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and comes with a month of free pet insurance.

Located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Out-of-State applications are accepted for an additional fee, and all of that information can be found on the website.
