Tamale – Big Heart, Big Energy, Now with Training to Match 💛

Tamale is an 18-month-old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix who was sadly abandoned by her family. They never truly said why they didn’t want her — but their loss is absolutely someone else’s gain. Despite everything, Tamale has remained loving, happy, and full of life.

Tamale is about 70 pounds of love, personality, and excitement. She loves playing with other big dogs and is having an absolute blast in training right now! Because she never had anyone to teach her manners before coming to the shelter, she’s been learning what it means to be a polite house dog — and she is doing SO well.

Tamale is currently enrolled in a professional training program with PlayStaytion Pet Resort in Sadler, TX, and is now moving into week three of her training. She has already mastered:
• Sit
• Heel
• Down

She is now working on:
• Boundaries and respect
• Stay command
• General leash manners and focus

Tamale will come with 30 days of professional training through PlayStaytion Pet Resort, and at the completion of her program she will take the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test.

Even better — her training is lifetime guaranteed, meaning her adopter can continue to attend training sessions at PlayStaytion Pet Resort at no cost to help reinforce her skills and ensure long-term success in her new home.

She is a happy, affectionate girl who truly wants to please and is learning more every day. With continued consistency and structure, she is going to make an incredible companion for a family willing to keep building on everything she’s already accomplished.

Tamale did test low positive for heartworms and has already been treated by the shelter. She will just need to remain on monthly heartworm prevention and receive regular veterinary checkups moving forward.
