Dax - Retriever and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Montgomery, Alabama

Meet Dax!

At just 4 months old and 30 pounds, Dax is a Retriever mix with a whole lot of puppy love to give!

Dax came to us as a stray after a kind citizen found him and cared for him for about a week. Our deputy made contact with the finder, and Dax was scanned for a microchip, but unfortunately, no chip was found and no owner ever came forward. He was safely transported to the shelter, where he's now patiently waiting for the next chapter of his life to begin.

Dax is an energetic, loving pup who isn't letting his unexpected start slow him down. He's looking on the bright side and hoping his forever family is right around the corner!

He's been neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, and now all this sweet boy needs is a family to call his own.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
