Taki (yes, like the chip) is a four-year-old Labrador mix who made his way into our care as a stray through Biloxi Animal Control in October 2025. Since arriving, he has perfected the art of being a cool, calm, nonchalant gentleman who is simply happy to be wherever, whenever. He is...really just a dude.
This easygoing boy walks great on leash and already knows how to sit. He enjoys leisurely exploring the outdoors, but he’s just as content quietly napping in his kennel, probably dreaming about his future forever home. Taki is good with other dogs but very much marches to the beat of his own drum. He’d do best with a canine companion who respects his independent nature and is happy to give him space to relax and do his thing. Please note that he is a very tall boy and can jump a fence easily if left unattended in a yard.
And we would be remiss not to mention — Taki loves a good bowtie. It perfectly matches his distinguished, gentlemanly personality. Taki is now THE LONGEST RESIDENT and he has waited long enough!
Taki is heartworm positive, but he is more than deserving to still go to a great home. With the proper treatment he can live out the rest of his life happy and healthy.

Taki's $250 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip AND transport fee to a location near you. We currently have transportation to CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, GA, and TN. Please email transport@hssm.org for more information on transports!
