Retriever and Mixed Breed Dogs Available for Adoption

I WANT TO INTRODUCE YOU TO BANJO! He is an eight week old little pup. They tell me he is a retriever mix. I am not sure what that means, but he shares strong physical characteristics to a yellow lab puppy. What I can say for sure is, he is absolutely adorable. From the beginning, he has been comfortable in his crate at night and usually only needs me to take him out once during the night for a potty break. Pretty good for such a young puppy! When we do get outside, he quickly does his business and returns to his crate for the remainder of the night.
We have just begun short, walks around the neighborhood, getting him used to the harness and the leash. Banjo, in typical puppy fashion, darts here and there taking in his new world. Most of his pauses are in order to explore the new sites smells and sounds around him. He will make someone a wonderful walking companion.
Banjo is both cuddly and independent. If you give him the attention, he will sit forever accepting scratchies on his back or belly. I have been using the puppy pen with him for parts of the day. This allows me the observation time to see how he does on his own as well as noting any cues that he gives when needing a potty break. Potty training is still working in progress. We are still going out approximately every hour in order to avoid accidents in the house. I do make sure we are within the same general area of the house as he likes knowing I am nearby. He is quite content napping by my side on the couch or in the pen for good stretches of the day.
Banjo has a sweet and gentle demeanor. He is a bit vocal when he feels the need for attention. Yet he quickly quiet down and independently plays with his toys or drifts off on one of many naps during the day. Out on the porch or on our walks, he does not bark at other dogs. He is definitely a people pooch. Banjo insist that we introduce ourselves to anyone we meet on our walk, greeting them with puppy wags and kisses.
