Rhodie - Redbone Coonhound and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Lewisville, Texas
RHODIE
Redbone Coonhound, Mixed Breed
🇺🇸
Lewisville, Texas
July 9th
male, medium, young
DESCRIPTION
Rhodie is an 8 month old, 40 lb Redbone Coonhound mix. Foster mom says he is a goofy puppy who wants to play and cuddle. He gets along with the other dogs in his foster home, and he has learned to leave them alone if they aren't interested in playing. He loves stuffed toys, but he can de-stuff them in no time, so best to stay with the sturdier toys. He also loves to play fetch, and will bring the ball back most of the time. He is still working on "releasing" the ball! Rhodie is super interested in the squirrels in the backyard, and gives his best effort to climb the tree to reach them. Fortunately for the squirrels, he hasn't succeeded in climbing the tree.
Rhodie doesn't live with kids, but we think he would be ok with kids over the age of 6. He walks fairly well on leash, but needs a little more training and practice.
He is housebroken and crate trained. Rhodie lives to hug and give kisses. He will make a great companion for an individual or family.
Please submit your application, and an adoption counselor will contact you.
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
The Redbone Coonhound is a versatile and intelligent hunting dog known for its striking red coat and endurance in the field. Bred in the United States, these dogs excel at tracking and treeing game, particularly raccoons. Their melodious bay is distinctive, making them valuable in hunting competitions and search and rescue operations. Redbone Coonhounds are loyal, affectionate companions, but require regular exercise and mental stimulation to thrive in a family setting.
