Ol Red - Redbone Coonhound and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Brunswick, Georgia
OL RED
Redbone Coonhound, Mixed Breed
🇺🇸
Brunswick, Georgia
July 15th
male, extra large, adult
DESCRIPTION
Ol Red was surrendered by his owners due to his proclivity to roam. He was adopted about 8 months ago but recently surrendered again due to his roaming. Obviously this nosy boy will need a fenced in yard and supervision. Ol Red is purebred, purchased from a breeder originally. He loves to talk to everyone and does well with other dogs. We have gotten conflicting reports about how Ol Red does with children. Maybe he is fine with older children, or children who are respectful of boundaries? If you love the breed and the song of his people, then Ol Red is perfect for you. He is a beautiful specimen and oh so friendly. Come in and meet him 11 to 4 Tuesday through Saturday. Ol Red is neutered, microchipped, current on core vaccines and has tested negative for heartworms.
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
The Redbone Coonhound is a versatile and intelligent hunting dog known for its striking red coat and endurance in the field. Bred in the United States, these dogs excel at tracking and treeing game, particularly raccoons. Their melodious bay is distinctive, making them valuable in hunting competitions and search and rescue operations. Redbone Coonhounds are loyal, affectionate companions, but require regular exercise and mental stimulation to thrive in a family setting.
