DESCRIPTION

Hi, I’m Cocoa/Dobby/Little Dog/Little Bit. It doesn’t really matter what you call me because I don’t respond to any of them because my foster mom thinks I may be deaf and likely can’t hear you. But don’t worry, I’m a smarty pants and I’m starting to learn some sign language, like sit (especially if treats are involved).

I’m about five years old and am 15 pounds of preciousness. I was found as a stray in December, and spent the holidays with a nice lady while waiting for my former family to find me. Sadly, that never happened and then we found out I had heartworms (ugh). I just finished up treatment for those pesky worms and I’ll soon be fit as a fiddle!

Right now, I live with two dogs, one is a giant at 130 pounds. That’s like 9 of me and, you know what, I don’t care. Both of my foster siblings are laid back, and that’s just how I like it. I’m cool being roommates, but I don’t really play with them because I’m all about the humans.

I also live with four cats (eeek!!). I may be able to stand up to a giant dog but those cats are scary. They smell, look and act weird and are as big as I am. I try to avoid them and will go out of my way to walk two feet away from them. One of them tries to play “bumpy face” with me. Foster mom says I’m getting much better around the cats but she can tell that they scare me when they get too close.

A few things that I love: humans, tennis balls, laps, toys, food. If someone is sitting down, I NEED to be in the lap unless a tennis ball is being thrown. I will chase a tennis ball until I’m so tired my eyes are closing while I’m running. Same with toys, give me a toy that we can play tug with and I’m happy. I’m not picky when it comes to food. I’ll eat anything. Hence the name Cocoa. It’s not my fault that someone left the pantry door open and the baker’s chocolate was on the bottom shelf. I’ll also eat whatever is on a human’s plate if it’s left alone. Paper, cardboard, ice cubes, and litter box treats are also very yummy.

Enough about me, how about you? Can you handle 15 pounds of unconditional love who will ignore you when you talk?
