Rat Terrier and Chihuahua Dogs Available for Adoption in Fort Collins, Colorado

Summer is a small dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This playful little girl is always ready for an adventure — whether it’s chasing toys, exploring the backyard, or investigating every interesting smell she can find. Her curiosity keeps life fun, and her cheerful energy is contagious.

Summer loves being around people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She’s also been great with the kids in her foster home and would make a fantastic addition to a family looking for a friendly, affectionate companion. After playtime, she’s happy to soak up attention and cuddle close with her favorite humans.

Like many young dogs, Summer is still learning the basics. The good news is she’s eager to learn, motivated by attention and treats, and ready for a family who can help her continue building confidence and good manners. She is doing very well with crate training and potty training in her foster home. If you’re looking for a sweet, lively dog who will keep you smiling and bring sunshine wherever she goes, Summer may be the perfect match for you.

Summer is a 1-year-old mixed breed rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $500 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, 4DX testing, and spay. Summer is also tested with other dogs, children, and potty and kennel trained. She is not tested with cats. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if she might be a good fit for your home.

The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals.

We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!)

Please note, we do not have the ability to process adoption applications at our adoption events, so please plan accordingly. If an application is submitted past 5pm on Monday-Thursday, it will begin review the following day. If submitted on Friday-Sunday, it will begin review on Monday. It takes approximately 1-2 business days for an application to be processed.

Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525).
