Pug Dogs Available for Adoption

Where are our pug lovers? We found Rose at Chicago Animal Care and Control, after being found in an abandoned stolen car! She didn't belong to the owner of the car or the person who stole it, and no one came forward for her, so we brought her to Heartland for a fresh start!

9 year old Rose went straight to a foster home while we provided some dental and medical care. Thankfully, she is healthy and happy!

Rose has wasted no time settling in to her foster's home and heart. She seems to be house trained and is crate trained. Her foster describes her as a playful and energetic pup who does not let her age define her.

While her regular foster was out of town, Rose was recently in a foster home with a couple and their big dog, and Rose got along great with everyone!

If you are looking for a companion who will be so happy to see you every time you walk in the door, greeting you with a full body wag, Rose is your girl. She is always down for a lengthy stroll with lots of sniff stops and a friendly bark to neighborhood dogs. Rose also loves to be a couch potato and must always have something soft to sit or lay on.

Rose's adoption fee is $175 (and her adoption fee is waived for an adopter 65 or older as part of our Seniors for Seniors program). She is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.

Rose will need to come to our shelter on 5/13/26 for a dental with extractions with our vet, at no cost to an adopter.

The pug is a small yet sturdy breed known for its charming personality and distinctive appearance. With a wrinkled face, curled tail, and expressive eyes, pugs are beloved for their affectionate nature and playful demeanor. Originating from China, these compact dogs have a smooth coat and require minimal grooming.
