A little bit about me…
Hey everybody, I’m Tax! I’m a fun guy with a big personality and even bigger love to give. My energy? Contagious. My vibe? Best friend for life. My favorite things include attention, toys, comfy beds, and being right by your side. I would do amazingly with a family because I truly love everyone. I am not a fan of being kenneled and will definitely voice my opinion if I feel like I am being left out or ignored. Please have knowledge in my breed and what things to be watchful of and careful about. If you’re looking for a goofy sidekick with a heart of gold, I just might be the one for you!
The highlights…
-I need to lose some weight
-I scream if I am put in seclusion
-I need to be monitored with excessive play time, especially in the hot months
-Must be walked with a harness
Key points to know…
-Pugs are a brachycephalic(flat faced) breed, which means their shortened snouts can make breathing more difficult, especially in heat, humidity, or during intense exercise. They can overheat quickly, so always keep them cool and avoid strenuous activity.
-Watch for signs of breathing distress, including excessive panting, loud snorting, gagging, or blue tinged gums. If you notice these signs, they need immediate rest and possibly veterinary care.
-Pugs are prone to weight gain, and even a few extra pounds can significantly worsen their breathing due to the added pressure on their airway. Keeping them at a healthy weight through portion control, balanced nutrition, and appropriate low-impact exercise is one of the most important things you can do to support their overall health and help them breath easier.
