When Ozzie first came to us, he was in very rough shape: undernourished, matted, anemic, and very frightened. But this little guy is the definition of resilience! After two months in foster care, he is a completely new dog. He is a healthy 14lbs now and DNA results show he is a poodle mix (includes chihuahua, Pomeranian, super mutt (one of which is a cattle dog where we suspect he got that blue eye), and even a bit of Rottweiler thrown in.) We estimate Ozzie is around 2 or 3 years old. Through all the fear and confusion at intake, this sweet little guy never once showed an ounce of aggression.
He is sweet and gentle, treat motivated, clever, crate trained, sleeps through the night. great in the car, and loves going on long walks. His potty training is coming along and he has only had a few accidents in the last couple weeks. Snuggling was something new to him but he is definitely warming up to the idea! He likes to be close, loves pets, He's a little awkward with being held, but only because it's new to him. He's still a bit shy, but now gently and curiously approaches strangers and gives fingertip kisses. He's very good with dogs of all sizes and loves to play. Rambunctious dogs and kids can be a little bit much for him.
Ozzie would make a great walking buddy, family dog, or second pup. He's a real gem! Apply to meet him using the link below and give this pup the second chance he truly deserves.
