Julie is a female dog who came to us with a luxated left patella, severe periodontal disease, a mixed cell mammary tumor, and possible keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS, or dry eye). Despite these medical concerns, she is currently stable, alert, and able to ambulate.
These conditions can significantly affect comfort, mobility, and overall quality of life. A luxated patella can cause pain and intermittent lameness, severe dental disease can lead to chronic pain and infection, mammary tumors require further evaluation and possible surgical intervention, and KCS requires ongoing eye medication and monitoring to prevent discomfort and corneal damage. Julie will require continued veterinary evaluation, pain management, dental and surgical care, and daily medical management beyond what we can consistently provide in the shelter environment.
Despite her condition, Julie remains bright and is doing her best while receiving supportive care.
Julie needs a safe, compassionate place where she can receive continued medical management and supportive care to maintain comfort and quality of life.
This pet is at risk for euthanasia due to the level of medical care she requires, which exceeds what we can provide in the shelter. If you are interested in helping, please email dasadopt@dallas.gov
with your contact information so we can call you back.
