Meet Minnie
This little lady is Minnie, an apricot mini Poodle weighing 10 pounds and estimated to be 7-8 years old. With her soft curls and dainty size, she’s basically a walking teddy bear—but don’t let her glamour fool you, this tiny girl has quite the story. Minnie was found as a stray, and unbelievably, no one came to claim her. Now she’s ready to find the loving home she truly deserves.
Minnie can be a bit shy when you first meet her, but give her a little time and patience and you’ll see her gentle, sweet personality start to bloom. She’s already winning hearts on her walks with shelter volunteers, happily trotting along like the little queen she is.
She’s dreaming of a home where she can be spoiled (as she absolutely should be) and treated like the superstar she is. Speaking of superstar—her gorgeous coat will need regular brushing and grooming to keep her looking red-carpet ready at all times.
Minnie is a quiet companion and not much of a barker, making her a lovely addition for a calmer household. Her compatibility with cats and other dogs is still unknown, though she has shown some positive potential with other dogs at the shelter. As always, a meet and greet with any resident dogs is required. Because of her tiny size, a home with older adults is preferred.
Minnie is available through our foster-to-adopt program, which means she can start settling into your home while she waits for her vet visit. During that time, she’ll receive her vaccines, spay, microchip, and heartworm testing.
If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this shy little star, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and submit an online adoption application for Minnie. Her adoption fee is $160. Hurry—get those applications in, because a sweetheart like Minnie won’t be around for long!
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
The Poodle is a highly intelligent and elegant dog breed known for its distinctive curly coat and graceful appearance. Originally bred as water retrievers, Poodles come in three size varieties Standard, Miniature, and Toy each with their unique characteristics but sharing the breed's alert and friendly nature. Renowned for their hypoallergenic qualities and keen sense of humor, Poodles excel in various dog sports and activities, making them versatile companions suitable for different lifestyles and living situations.
